All the memories lodged in me

To remember, you might think you need a human brain

Or at least a brain of some sort- think again

Each cell of your being preserved memories too

And that memory allows the development of the sentient being that is you

**

Your cells carry the memory of who they should be

At the molecular level, regenerating themselves constantly

Your immune system remembers the insult it had incurred before

Ready to fight pathogens with precision more

**

You remember prior mental trauma, your body keeps score as well

Your unpleasant memories manifest in your feeling unwell

Your organs react physically when you remember pain-

Memories lodge in your body beyond the brain..

**

The brain, the body, the cells- they all have memory

Remembering is ubiquitous, this brings comfort to me
