Facing writer’s block daily I was looking for advice
On how to write every day, this suggestion caught me by surprise-
It recommended leaving a half-finished sentence, midway
The goal being to start writing by completing that sentence the next day
This definitely sounds interesting, and worth an attempt
Leave a sentence hanging in mid-air with the intent
Of expanding on it to compose a verse new
Let the burden of thinking be split into parts two
*
Coming to think of it I have done this before
When I am exhausted and cannot complete a thought any more
I type out the beginning of a sentence and fall asleep
The next day when I sit down to write, the choice is mine whether to keep
The words intact and keep building on what I wrote
Or to delete it and start from scratch on a different note
*
At the end of this verse I am planning to write
An incomplete sentence so that tomorrow writer’s block I do not fight
