Boxed To-Do List

A method to improve efficiency I learnt about recently

It sounded like it was designed just for me

The suggestion was to create a 2X2 table and classify

All tasks into four categories in an effort to simplify

The never-ending to-do list where each task appears to be

Equivalent in terms of its urgency

*

The two columns were unattractive and attractive

And the two rows productive and unproductive

The first box comprises productive but unattractive tasks that are important but not fun

The second box combining productive with attractive tasks is the best one

The third box consists of unproductive and unattractive things to do

That need to be pared down to just a few

The fourth box contains the dangerous category

Of tasks that are unproductive but attractive to me

Like scrolling through social media and watching short-form videos on repeat

The activities in this box are the ones I need to delete

*

I should make a list of things to do in this fashion

The second box is wherein lie all my passions

The first box the call of duty signifies

Completing those tasks feels like a chore but my responsible self satisfies

From the shackles of unpalatable tasks in box number three

I should try as much as I can to set myself free

The fourth box is a reminder of things I should forget about

Completing attractive but unproductive tasks is an exercise in futility, without doubt

*

To improve my efficiency I would welcome any trick

This method is one that I think would click
