I log the books I read on a reading app online
I have to review each book added, but it is hard to define
How satisfied I feel after completing my read
And distill my experience in one to five stars- to review a book adequately I need
To describe in detail the effect of the book on me
The number of stars is proportional to its memorability
Some books leave on me an impression deep
Some others my attention cannot keep
The subject matters less than the writing style
I have not awarded a book five stars in a while

Honestly a book review deserves much more
Than a star rating, a numerical score
If a book leaves on me a lasting impact
I should give a more elaborate review, in fact
Through my review other readers I should tell
Why they should read the book as well
*
Of the thousands of books I have listed on my account
The number of books with a detailed review on one hand I can count
All of them have been awarded stars, the number of which is influenced
By the listed rating of the book to a great extent
I do not review classics, because they have already been
Extensively reviewed, my blurb would remain unread and unseen
*
At this time I need a book to which a glowing review I can give
Those are the books for which I live…
