An interesting mathematical formula I came across recently
Linking the number of people in an organization with productivity
It states that the square root of the number of people in a domain
Is the number responsible for half of the system output, the rest remain
On the sidelines, contributing, but without much impact
The “square root” subset moves the needle, in fact
*
I doubt I am in the square root category
But that is exactly where I want to be
At work, I am quite productive, but still feel
My impact is not matched by my zeal
The painful realization has just descended on me
That I am but an industrious worker bee
*
My aim was to talk about an interesting concept
My place in my organization I did not mean to inspect
I shall, however, keep the square root in mind
That’s the number around which excellence is designed
