What an irony it is that I write to steer myself away
From mindless social media scrolling, but often at the end of the day
I find myself scrolling frantically on various sites
For inspiration, for ideas on what to write
My day has been spent at work, and work does not provide
Enough ideas that be turned into poems, though I have tried
To write about the various aspects of my profession
Writing only about work would seriously limit my expression
Sometimes I turn a discussion, a remark, a news story into my poem of the day
When all else fails, there is the internet anyway..

So I am scrolling through short articles, lists, video reels
To find a subject that sufficiently appeals
To my mind such that I can give it my own twist
Interpret it in my way while retaining the gist

I searched for some time, but could not really find
An idea good enough to appeal to my mind
So here I am, just describing what I do
And justifying my use of social media too!
Passion...unbridled
