When presented with a brief interlude
During my day, I prefer to spend some moments in solitude
To reconnect with my feelings, examine with a critical eye
If anything is bothering me at that time and why
If I feel at peace with myself, I try to find
The factors that have brought a sense of calm to my mind
This is an effective and efficient way
To check-in with myself every day
To take stock of my emotions and regulate
To the best of my ability, my emotional state
*
By being attuned to my emotions, knowing why I feel a certain way
Has helped me in more ways that I can say
When I realize I am overwhelmed, I know
To take a deep breath and go a bit slow
Just acknowledging that I am bothered helps me
To get over my annoyance and move on with placidity
And when I feel perfectly content, I say a short prayer
Because such moments are as precious as they are rare

This is why I took my lunch hour alone. I needed away time from the people I worked with to recharge and regroup. Solitude works wonders.
