
If you’ve been ruminating over a problem before going to bed
If there is a conundrum stuck in your head
Then sleep on it- if luck is on your side
You might dream, and your dream might provide
A solution to your predicament or at least a way
To move forward when you wake up the next day

To consolidate memories and solve problems nature has designed
That we dream during sleep, resting the body while the mind
Devoid of external stimuli can process old information
The brain stays active, in subconscious contemplation

Do you remember an instance where you woke up refreshed
With a novel solution for a problem in your head
In your rapid-eye-movement sleep, you probably had a dream
The solution did not appear out of nowhere, as it might seem

Dreaming can solve problems, but that does need
Good quality, natural, unaided sleep indeed
This is a reminder for me to sleep on my problems tonight
Hopefully tomorrow morning an answer shall be in my sight
