The worst thing about writing daily, I read somewhere
Is that you find out what you really think, you become aware
Of the thoughts that float frequently through your mind
You understand why in certain directions you are inclined
*
On delving deeper into my writing, I realized that there are themes recurrent
That feature in my verses, they reflect the undercurrent
Of thoughts that dominate my consciousness
Of matters over which I ruminate and obsess
*
Although from a journaling perspective I do not write
In writing daily, I distill raw thoughts into words that sound right
I have discovered more about myself, I must say
By committing to a writing practice every day
