A new word that has entered my lexicon (a positive one to my surprise)

Is “whimsymaxxing” which means intentionally romanticizing life

Curating moments that make magic come alive

How you indulge in this trend without traveling to an exotic place

Is by finding novelty in daily life, by attempting to embrace

The feeling of awe that watching a sunset or the night sky brings

Or by savoring your treasured possessions, your favorite things

Whimsymaxxing sounds like a good concept if it is not performative

But the ones who indulge in this practice seem to live

Their lives on social media, this makes for aesthetically pleasing content

The purpose is defeated when showcasing your life online is the intent

I learnt about whimsymaxxing and soon thereafter I saw

The day-lilies in my yard were blooming, their sun-drenched petals filled me with awe

Let me find more opportunities to romanticize

My predictable life which could be more interesting than I realize
