Words Fall Short…

There are emotions that in words smoothly flow

I can describe them, sometimes they sound

cliched, I know

Sometimes befitting metaphors I am able to use

Sometimes a single word appropriate for the emotion I am able to choose

But I am not at a loss of words to describe

The emotions to convey a specific vibe

*

Then there are emotions that do not lend themselves well

To words, there is no satisfactory way to tell

What I am feeling, words in both the languages I know

Fall short in explaining my emotions, to show

What exactly is going through my mind

In the worst form of writers’ block, myself I then find

*

Is it a shortcoming of my vocabulary or is it an inability to express

My deepest desires, my failures, my regrets

In words because I am reluctant to share what I truly feel

Am I afraid of repercussions if I were to reveal

What exactly is going on in my mind

I do not want to open a can of worms or worse, step on a landmine

*

Some day I shall find both the right words and enough courage to express

The entire gamut of my emotions, and face the consequences without regrets
